The Manchester Lung Health Check programme is back for annual surveillance scans.

The programme, which began in April 2019 in North Manchester, has conducted almost 10,000 assessments on people aged 55 to 80, who are current or former smokers.

Those who were selected for annual surveillance will shortly be receiving appointment letters in the post to attend this year’s scan. The assessment will be conducted using an ultra-low dose CT scan of the lungs. This will help to detect any early signs of lung cancer as well as other lung diseases.

Surveillance scans will be taking place at the Etihad Stadium from August 2021 – March 2022.
