Outstanding rating for our Patient and Public Involvement
Under the National Health Service Act 2006, CCGs have a statutory duty to involve the public in commissioning.
NHS England has a legal duty to assess how well each CCG has discharged its public involvement duty, as well as a commitment to supporting continuous improvement in public participation.
For 2018/2019 NHS Manchester CCG has been rated Green Star which is Outstanding. This is a continued improvement from the 2017/2018 rating of Good.
Ian Williamson, Chief Accountable Officer stated “I am delighted with this achievement. We take our patient and community engagement very seriously, so it is a really positive sign to receive this independent external recognition – Green Star and Outstanding! Well done to our staff and thanks to all of our volunteers and partners for their involvement and support”.
