The MHCC finance team put on their high visibility jackets and face masks to volunteer at the Jain Centre in Levenshulme. The team were split into two groups – one team volunteering from 9am – 1pm and the other from 2pm – 6pm.
The team helped Manchester residents get their Pfizer jab by greeting them at the entrance, making sure that face coverings were worn, wiping down chairs and giving directions. Although some in the team were eager to go beyond their daily finance jobs and put on their scrubs, they soon realised that vaccinating people should be left to the doctors and nurses!
Despite very cold temperatures, the team had a lot of fun getting to know those in the community and helping people get their vaccines. Volunteering is more important than ever as we move into the next phase of the vaccination programme. Thanks to volunteers, NHS staff and vaccinators, we can deliver vaccines as quickly and safely as possible.
