Jackie Driver – Strategic lead, Inclusion at MHCC was made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours list 2021.
This honour was in recognition of her work for hearing impaired people, equality, diversity and inclusion. Jackie is widely recognised as an important advocate for disabled people’s rights. Throughout her career, Jackie has been a strong activist for women’s rights, for the LGBT+ community, and, most recently, for people in Manchester disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.
At MHCC her work involves working across the regional and local health, and social care commissioning services – developing equality and inclusion strategy that aligns with the commissioning strategy and the wider locality plan for Manchester. She works closely with stakeholders across the system to deliver an inclusive local care organisation, single hospital and social value strategies that fully embed the principles of inclusion, equality and human rights.
Jackie is also Chair of SignHealth’s Board of Trustees and Chair of the Manchester disability charity Breakthrough UK.
Congratulations to Jackie for this deserved recognition of your work.
