Practice Cancer Champion

18-09-2018 12:00 - 14:00
Victoria Mill
Address: Victoria Mill, Lower Vickers St, Manchester M40 7LH, UK

The aim of this programme is to support Practices with achieving the Manchester Cancer Standards. It is completely free of charge, jointly delivered by Cancer Research UK and Macmillan.

This Practice Cancer Champion (PCC) programme is open to anyone, both clinical and non-clinical. Usually this will typically mean administrative or reception team members, but you may feel it more useful to have an Health Care Assistant as your PCC.

It may be that because of your knowledge of the previous PCC project that you have realised that it may be more appropriate for a different colleague to attend these sessions, in which case this training will be very useful for newcomers. We are happy to speak with anyone interested to discuss.

The session will then look in detail at the three cancer screening programmes, with expert support available to help you improve uptake in your Practice.

These sessions are the second of what will now be a quarterly on-going programme of support, always completely free, so we can really help you with supporting your Practices with all things cancer. On-going training is planned to cover lots of useful topics, but particularly to help you with achieving the Manchester Cancer Standards.
