Edward Dyson

Director of Strategic Planning

Ed has worked for the NHS in Manchester for nearly twenty years. Starting his career as an invoice payments officer he worked within finance for the early part of his career and qualified as an accountant. Ed moved into commissioning and project roles for a numbers of years. As Director of Planning and Operations, his responsibility areas includes strategic and operational planning; leadership of the City’s Locality Plan ‘Our Healthier Manchester’; corporate affairs; workforce and organisational development; IT and Estates. The directorate also leads a number of projects including the establishment of the Manchester LCO and the transfer of North Manchester General Hospital to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).

Ed’s ambition is for MHCC to lead the improvement of health outcomes for people in Manchester. Of particular interest is how wider issues such as housing, employment and education can positively impact upon this. Bringing together the NHS and the City Council under MHCC gives a great opportunity to do this.

Ed and his wife and two young daughters like to spend their spare time walking, cycling and visiting interesting places.
