Dr Peter Williams

Secondary Care Doctor

A consultant physician and nephrologist, Peter has been Medical Director of a Liverpool hospital trust since 2008. His role is to provide insight into the performance of our secondary care providers, with a focus on patient safety. He is a keen skier and cyclist.

Dr Geeta Wadhwa

Clinical Lead for Learning Disabilities and Autism, MHCC

After qualifying as a doctor in 1992, Geeta took what she describes as the ‘scenic route’ into General Practice via Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is a GP Partner, Specialty Trainer and GP Appraiser in South Manchester.

Geeta is passionate about reducing health inequalities and was elected to the MHCC Board in October 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic. She was appointed Clinical Lead for Learning Disabilities and Autism in June 2021.

She set up the award winning Gynaecology Tier 2 service for Manchester PCT, led on the innovative pilot on Domestic Violence for Wythenshawe PCN and is involved with setting up the Citywide Annual Heath Check Pilot, to improve the uptake and quality for health checks for our vulnerable patients with Learning Disabilities.

Outside of work she likes reading, waking and travelling when she can. In her spare time she attempts to learn Spanish and the Flamenco dance – both without much success!
