Accessible communications

As an NHS organisation, we are required to fully meet the Accessible Information Standards. The standards were introduced by NHS England in 2016 to ensure individuals with a disability or sensory loss are given information in a way that they can understand.

As part of our commitment to meeting these standards, we will provide any of our published information from website in another format or language for example, Easy Read, Braille or audio tape. If you would like to make a request, please contact us.

If you are making an appointment with your GP or Dentist, talk to them about any difficulties you may have with speaking or understanding and if you require a British Sign Language interpreter. They will then be able to make the necessary arrangements to help support you during your appointment whether this is a face to face, telephone or online consultation. Please note; it might take a few days for a face-to-face interpreter to become available.
